Bio

Alexandra’s research focuses on how factors across aquatic ecosystems influence growth, survival, and reproductive success in migratory salmon. Currently, Alexandra is studying thiamine deficiency complex in Chinook salmon. She uses the isotopes in eye lenses to reconstruct their diets and life histories, with the goal of understanding the disruptions in marine food webs causing this vitamin deficiency.

Alexandra is passionate about supporting students in the fisheries community, and volunteers as the Communications Director for the Davis-Sacramento subunit of the American Fisheries Society.
