Bio

Matthew started working at CWS in May of 2019 as a Student Assistant dissecting juvenile salmon and performing gut identification. In June 2019, he graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Entomology with minors in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology. After graduating, he was hired as a Junior Specialist researcher in the Johnson-Jeffres Lab. Matthew is currently working on the Sutter Project evaluating the role the Butte sink and Sutter Bypass play in supporting the growth of salmon populations accessing said systems. He can usually be found out bug collecting or hunched over a microscope.
