Bio

Roshan Puri is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Center for Watershed Sciences, UC Davis. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech in 2023, specializing in the fields of Environmental Economics and Applied Econometrics. His dissertation primarily focuses on the application of advanced statistical and econometric methods to generate benefit transfer predictions in an environmental valuation context such as improvement in water quality and increment in wetland acreages. His current work evaluates non-market values of Pacific Flyway habitat, exploring connections to agricultural water use, drainage, land management, concurrent agricultural/wildlife land use, and other water reduction strategies.
