Bio

Sophie Sanchez is a Junior Specialist in the Center for Watershed Sciences and Rypel Lab, assisting in research surrounding megafire and its impacts on alpine lake communities. She currently processes organic samples for C-N stable isotope analysis, to be used in the quantification of aquatic food webs and their changes pre/post-fire. Sophie is also involved in the Center's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) committee. 

Prior to this position, Sophie graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology (2023). She is broadly interested in the anthropogenic effects on aquatic harvest species/communities, and subsequent management implications.
